Create and customize your own songs by writing the music in the dedicated suite supporting multiple tools for recording and modifying the compositions. MIDI sequencing on up to eight tracks is available. Live playing of analog instruments compatible with the suite is also possible.
Ableton Live Lite is equipped with numerous features that allow users to record audio streams, perform mixing operations, and apply various effects to audio files.
In order to start using its features, you need to arm yourself with patience because the installation process does take several minutes to complete. Once completed, you discover a modern interface, with a few theme variations, but looking overcrowded and requiring a steep learning curve. On top of that, the text size seems too small and the font looks unprofessional.
Skipping to its features, Ableton Live Lite offers users a Unique Session View for quick, intuitive composition, flexible performance and improvisation.
It comes with multiple automation lanes, Track Freeze, and it supports VST and Audio Unit while being able to manipulate formats like WAV, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, or AIFF.
The program also has a wide range of audio effects, such as Erosion, Redux, Audio Filter, Compressor, Audio Rack Effect, or Simple Delay.
Furthermore, the built-in library provides users up to 268 instrument racks, 117 audio effect racks, 5 MIDI effect racks and many more presets and samples.
All in all, Ableton Live Lite is a comprehensive audio editing tool, equipped with rich features, but consuming a lot of systems resources.
